Alpine Earplugs

Every year, an estimated 40 billion plastic foam earplugs are produced around the world. These are single-use products that cannot be recycled, so end up in the bin – and once in landfill, they don't biodegrade.
Disposable earplugs are made from polyurethane and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) – both fossil-based plastics that require vast amounts of oil to manufacture. The latter is a toxic compound, and one of the most harmful plastics produced – both for the environment and for people.

But we live in an increasingly noisy world, and noise pollution – from working in a loud environment, to traffic noise, to noise from construction or roadworks – can contribute to hearing loss.
One solution for anyone who wants to reduce their exposure to nuisance noise is to invest in a set of high-quality reusable earplugs, such as Alpine Deep Sleep or Alpine Silence.
If you're regularly in a noisy environment, this is also a more affordable option too. Disposable foam earplugs should only be worn once – for good reason. The material they're made from is porous, so it absorbs dirt, bacteria, wax or dead skin cells from inside the ear – meaning reused foam earplugs are unhygienic, and could potentially cause infection.
With disposable earplugs costing up to £1 per pair, it doesn't take long to save money by buying reusable earplugs instead.
The Alpine range of earplugs are specially developed to protect hearing in many different settings. The range includes designs for musicians and festival-goers, frequent flyers, swimmers and motorcyclists. There's also a range of earplugs and ear defenders specially designed for children and babies.
Alpine earplugs are easy to clean with lukewarm water and soap, and they can be reused again and again.
Alpine Hearing Protection is a certified B Corp company – which means it's been recognised for having a positive impact for people and the planet. The company's products are designed with sustainability in mind, using minimal plastic packaging and recyclable materials wherever possible.

Alpine SleepDeep Earplugs
Alpine SleepDeep earplugs are specifically designed for wearing at night, and are an affordable and environmentally conscious alternative to single-use foam earplugs. Their unique oval shape means they're easy to insert and remove, and the neat storage box keeps them clean and dry when not in use.

They're extremely comfortable, whatever your sleeping position, and stay firmly in place until morning. They block out any noises that might disturb you during the night, including traffic and noisy neighbours – and so help improve sleep quality.

Alpine Silence Earplugs
Alpine Silence is a good choice for people who also need to filter out loud background noises during the day. They reduce noise by up to 25dB, bringing aggravating noises such as traffic and loud music in shops down to a manageable level – so are ideal for all sorts of people, from students who need to concentrate on their studies, to autistic people or anyone with sensory processing difficulties.
These are very comfortable to wear – we found them soft and snug, and could keep them in all day. They're great for long train journeys or other travel, or any noisy, bustly environment. Because they don't completely block out all sound, they're a safe option for wearing in towns and cities, where you need to be able to hear what's going on around you.
They can also be worn at night to reduce disturbing noises and improve sleep – without blocking out the sound of your morning alarm!
Alpine Silence earplugs come in six different colours. There are four different tip sizes included in the box, so you can get exactly the right fit for your ears. They come in a sturdy case, with a loop that can be attached to a keychain or carabiner – so you can keep them at hand for whenever you need them.
Cost: £21.95. Buy Alpine Silence earplugs.
