Prestige Eco frying pan

The new Eco range of saucepans and frying pans from Prestige is a good choice for anyone who wants to make their kitchen more planet-friendly.

Featuring a multi-layered, plant-based, nonstick surface, the pans offer excellent heat distribution for even and energy-efficient cooking.

The non-stick is made from a vegan compound that is non-toxic to human health and doesn't harm the environment.

We tried out an *Eco frying pan from the range and it handled our culinary efforts with ease, from pancakes and omelettes to stir fries and pasta sauces.

The Prestige Eco range is suitable for all hobs, including induction, and is oven-safe up to 150°C. It is dishwasher safe, and comes with a five-year guarantee.

The Eco range is also free from palm oil, nickel and heavy metals. It also contains no perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) – a chemical often used in the manufacture of nonstick pans that may potentially cause health problems, for example if it is allowed to contaminate water supplies.

The Eco range is packaged in recyclable cardboard from sustainable FSC sources, and there is no use of single-use plastics in any of the packaging. The pan itself is also recyclable.

For every pan bought Prestige will plant a tree in collaboration with Tree Aid. Tree Aid works with local people in the drylands of Africa to help communities protect existing trees and grow new trees for themselves and future generations. So far Tree Aid have planted over 17 million trees.

The scratchproof surface is quick and effortless to clean, and cooked food glides easily from the pan. The performance of the nonstick surface is so effective that very little fat is needed – making it easier to prepare healthy, low-fat meals.

The pan looks lovely, with a stylish, soft green granite effect. It's quite light in weight, but still feels strong and sturdy, with a soft-grip, heat-resistant handle that's comfortable to hold.

It has a good depth too – so is just as effective for cooking meals with sauces as it is for a breakfast fry-up.
